Point-in-Time Count
To our Community Partners:
The Gallia-Jackson-Meigs-Vinton Continuum of Care is coordinating a
four-county effort to bring state and federal resources into our
communities to address issues of homelessness and housing. These resources
come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) through the Ohio Department of Development Office of
Housing and Community Partnerships (ODOD/OHCP) based
on the local Continuum of Care process.
One of the requirements for funding is that we conduct a "Point in Time"
count of homeless persons in our communities. Since many of
these individuals may utilize your services or may be known to you, we are
asking for your assistance in completing this "Point in Time"
count.
We have designated Monday, January 21st through Friday, January 25th as the
period for the Gallia-Jackson-Meigs-Vinton count.
You will be provided with copies of the "Service-Based Homeless Study
Questionnaire." We are asking that you make this questionnaire available to
persons who come into your facility/agency beginning January 21st. Please
ask them to complete the questionnaire and turn it in to you. If the person
requests assistance in completing the questionnaire, we ask that you provide
that assistance. If you run out of questionnaires, please feel free to make
additional copies as needed.
At the end of the day on January 25th, please return all completed
questionnaires in the self-addressed, stamped envelope that will be
provided.
